Richard Ardler in our employee spotlight

Tell us a little bit about your role at the SCMSAC

I have been working at SCMSAC for eight and half years now. In my current role as a Permanency Support Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the Out of Home Care Program and ensuring the teams are providing a level of casework that is adequately meeting the needs of the children and young people under SCMSAC case management.

What do you like most about your role?

Having the opportunity to support our children to hopefully one day to be restored to family, and where this cannot happen, ensuring that they maintain their connection to family, Community and Culture.

What are your proudest moments at SCMSAC?

Supporting the restoration of some of our children back to family and achieving our five year accreditation.

Tell us a little about a project you are working on at the moment

The expansion of our program on the Far South Coast. Currently we are working with The NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and Anglicare to transition Aboriginal children under their case management across to SCMSAC. I am focusing on staff recruitment for our Batemans Bay team to ensure we have the capacity to meet the need.
