The Strong Foundations program is a suicide prevention program that includes culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal children aged 7-13 Years and their families about mental health and wellbeing, utilising group activities, capacity-building workshops and individual and group counselling. The program aims to raise awareness of mental health wellbeing, increase resilience, encourage help-seeking behaviours, develop coping strategies, build positive self-esteem, and increase cultural pride and connection to minimise the risk of suicide within primary school students and their families.
Strong Foundations is an in-school program delivered in partnership with local schools. If your school is interested in having the program, school staff can contact us directly to discuss how we can bring Strong Foundations to their students. We work with schools to tailor the program to the needs of their children and young people, providing a safe, supportive, and culturally inclusive environment.
Our Therapeutic Services support children and young people to heal, grow, and develop coping skills, particularly when facing trauma or mental health challenges. All services are culturally safe and tailored to the needs of each child and their carers. Our team provides a wrap-around approach, offering evidencebased counselling, family support, advocacy, case management, group therapy, therapeutic interventions, and healing activities. These services aim to build resilience, connection, and wellbeing, while addressing the impacts of intergenerational trauma. Support is provided on an individual, family, group, and community level, ensuring coordinated care that strengthens children, families, and communities.
Therapeutic support can be accessed through a referral from a carer, family member, or agency. Contact us to discuss your child’s needs, and we’ll help connect you to the right services.
