Becoming a foster carer is a meaningful commitment that can have a profound impact. By providing a child with a safe and supportive home, you’re giving them the opportunity to grow, heal, and reach their full potential. As a foster carer with us, you help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children stay connected to their culture while providing love, stability, and care when they need it most.
While we aim to place children with Aboriginal carers, we welcome carers from all backgrounds who are committed to supporting these cultural connections.
One of the best ways to stay informed about our goals, priorities, and strategic direction is by becoming a member. If you are 18 years or older, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and live between Helensburgh, NSW and the Victorian border along the South Coast, you are eligible to become a member of the first Aboriginal Medical Service established on the South Coast of NSW.
As a member, you will have the opportunity to attend general meetings, speak and vote on important matters, share feedback about the organisation, and receive updates in the way that suits you best. Membership is a way to stay connected, have your voice heard, and help shape the future of our services and community.
We value feedback from our community. Hearing about your experiences helps us improve our services and continue providing the best possible support. We also share positive feedback with our team when they have made a real difference, so they know the impact of their work. You can provide feedback about specific areas of our services, including Health, Client Services, and Family Connect & Support. Your voice helps us learn, grow, and strengthen the support we provide to our community.
